LEED fundamentals workshop

It was honorig and a pleasure to be part of the LEED fundamentals workshop @ ENERGY in BUILDINGS - NORTHERN HELLAS 2024 organized by ASHRAE Hellenic Chapter.

The workshop is designed as a fundamental training providing basic knowledge about the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design v4/v4.1 green building certification programs.

• It mentioned the historic development of the certification and its application in Greece.

• It gave an overview of the certification process and the different available rating systems.

• It advised on choosing the correct rating system for every application.

• It mentioned the different credit categories and the LEED Scorecard.

It dived into all credits and pre-requisites of the Building Design and Construction rating system, the most widely used in the Greek market, that applies both to New Constructions and Major Renovations. The requirements have been mentioned and shortly explained in order to give a better understanding about the complexity and holistic approach of the process.

It provides information about the evolvement of the system development and the future of LEED principles.

The LEED fundamentals workshop aims to educate all engineers (architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers) but also other stakeholders, who are involved in design and construction of LEED projects, to offer a basic understanding of the requirements and the approach towards LEED certification.
