The importance of health in the built environment grows with the air tight building envelopes due to energy saving measures. Indoor air quality issues can lead to sickness and loss of productivity.

Having experienced the sick building syndrome first hand, it is of the utmost importance to us, to inform decision makers, architects, engineers and building maintenance staff, but also tenants and building owners, about their responsibilities when choosing materials, furniture or even cleaning products.

But health does not stop at human health, the impact on climate health, ecosystem health, social health and equity and the impact of material choices on circular economy are of equal importance.

Only a holistic approach will guarantee long time benefit.
